A graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Joy Thompson is from the North Georgia mountains where she grew up working on her family’s Black Angus cattle farm and pursuing hobbies like horseback riding and roping. Oklahoma is definitely very different from the region she’s accustomed to, but Dr. Thompson is excited to move and explore the West. Her menagerie that’s moving with her includes two cats, a Quarter horse mare, and a miniature horse gelding. Although she has a special interest in large animal medicine due to her background, Dr. Thompson is excited to apply her knowledge to all species. She can’t wait to meet all of Durant’s animals both large and small!
